Interview with JESS DAVILA ESCULTOR MEXICANO

JESS DAVILA spent his formative years in the beautiful state of Sonora, Mexico. He grew up exploring and appreciating the virgin beauty of the desert and the mountainous regions of his homeland. Dávila focuses on exploring a unique contemporary style. Fully self-taught artist, Davila builds on her experiences with various media that allow her to express and develop the multiple facets of her artistic talent and further develop her creative being.

It is based on the personal experience and beauty that you see throughout your surroundings to create impressive works in marble, alabaster, sandstone and limestone. Dávila’s unique stone interpretations evoke strong emotions from all who have the privilege of seeing them. The artist’s deep appreciation for beauty is evident in every aspect of his pieces, from natural patterns in a piece of stone to the fluid curves of a finished sculpture.

Dávila is the founder of the Center for Arts and Culture in Huachinera, Sonora, Mexico, and works with several of his colleagues. The Center is located on approximately 10 acres of land and now has 6 buildings completed. Jess is giving back to his community, which has provided him with so much artistic inspiration. Its purpose for the center is to inspire people in this region to find hidden artistic talents and experience the joy that art creation brings. T

he Artistic and Cultural Center of Huachinera is a way of bringing together the townspeople to study and learn various artistic methods.
